Next Doll Find

I found this desk at Goodwill the same time as the dresser. It was originally painted a dark wood color but I repainted it white to match my other furniture.
The doll's fit perfectly in it. I made a Expo marker and some pencils to go with it (fake of course) out of toothpicks. Normally I am not into doll school but this was adorable and I had to get it! I think it was about 5 or 6 dollars from Goodwill. Just check around your local thrift stores (Tuesday Morning also) for great doll deals!

Cute!

Thrifty Finds

If you go to Goodwill, Salvation Army, or any other thrift stores, keep your eyes open for doll finds.
I found this at my local Goodwill for $4. This is Samantha's retired "Commode Dresser".
As you can see, the drawer pulls are missing but it still looks fine!

This is how I use the dresser. I store their "china" is the cabinet. I was SUPER excited to find this and will share my other find in a couple days! Doll Diaries is having some giveaways for furniture and doll stuff. Check them out!:0

Doll Storage: My way

I know everybody has different organizing or storage ways. This post is just to give a couple of ideas for y'all.:)
This is where I store most of my doll dresses. On the bottom of the shelfing in my closet there is just enough room for the dresses. If you are putting store bought curtains in your house use the bags with the little hook on top to put the doll dresses in. They work very well! Also when I buy doll clothes from AG or Springfield Collection they come with the hangar. Use those as well and then you won't have to buy any or as many. My Froggy Stuff channel on youtube has a video on how to make hangars for doll clothes.

I have the shoe rack on the back of my closet door and in the last month or two have decided to put doll clothes in them. It works so well! No more sorting through boxes and boxes of doll clothes to have a quick picture shoot!
I made this shoe storage box/chair out of two American Girl clothes boxes. One was bigger, one was smaller. I am running out of space for shoes now! I will do a tutorial for this sometime. Hope you liked this post!

Giveaways

Doll Diaries is having a whole bunch of AWESOME giveaways! Got check out the site by clicking here.

Doll Find

My mom and I were shopping in Tuesday Morning and I came across some Our Generation and Madame Alexander Favorite Friends Collection Stuff.  My mom saved the OG stuff for Christmas but  I got the MAFF stuff now.
It includes the boots, jeans, sweater, vest, and hat. Pretty good deal for only ten bucks.

Nicki is modeling for me today. She says, "The jeans, sweater, and hat are cool but I don't know where they got the shoes and vest."
                                                                Ze hat.
                                                                 The vest.
The shoes. I think I will replace the white laces with black. The white just looks a little odd. The shoes are a weird kind of rubbery plasticy stuff. Just kind of weird.

The jeans are glittery with red stitching so if you like everything matching these won't go with a whole lot.
This is my take with the outfit. As you can see the sweater is a little short but like some fall sweaters 3/4 is the style. I also paired it with purple boots from AG, Julie's meet belt, and the pink and black store exclusive sunglasses.

Purple boots from AG.

Julie's belt and up-close view of the jeans.
I hope that you guys enjoyed this review and again it is from the Madame Alexander Favorite Friends Collection. It was ten dollars for the set at Tuesday Morning.

Craft!

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of weeks:(. I have been very busy with animals, school, and everything else.

                                                     CRAFT: Vegetable Party Tray

To make this veggie party tray for dolls you will need:

orange fun foam

green fun foam

yellow fun foam

white packing peanuts (styrofoam)

white paint (optional)

black and/or brown fun foam (optional)

scissors

valentines chocolate case or other 4 or 5 hole container

1) Gather all your supplies(and eat all the chocolate!)

2) Using your fun foam cut your carrots, celery, and squash into thin strips about 2-3 inches long. I cut about 10 strips but of course you can cut more or less depending on how many dolls you have.

3) I cut white packing peanuts about in half for cauliflour. They came out to about 11/2-2 inches long.

4) If you have a fifth hole in your container you can make ranch dressing by mixing white paint in with tiny flecks of black and/or brown fun foam and let it dry in one of your holes.

I made cucumbers out of the stickers in my AG Doll Dining book

Doll Diaries is having three awesome giveaways. Check them out here!!

Williamsburg

The trip to Williamsburg was good and Mia came with me! The first night when we went out to eat at a colonial tavern I brought Mia in Felicity's holiday gown. Our waitress posed with her:).

Our waitress also brought out a high chair for Mia so she wouldn't have to like be uncomfortable. Or me.

She wasn't having quite a great hair day.

Then the other night we went to another colonial tavern where Mia went also wearing Elizabeth's riding outfit.

I didn't walk around colonial Williamsburg with Mia because I didn't want her getting scratched up, shoes lost, etc. On our way back from Williamsburg I caught the sunset with the camera.

                                                                                                              Have a nice weekend!

Gone

My family decided to go to Williamsburg this week and so Saturday morning Mia and I packed up her colonial outfits to take. We brought Felicity's retired Holiday Gown and Elizabeth's retired Riding Outfit. And yes when we were walking around the colonial area there was a lady on a horse and her riding outfit looked just like Elizabeth's! I had always been like how do they were all those clothes to ride a horse? But they do. When I get home on Thursday or Friday I will post pictures of Mia and a couple things we picked up!

                                                                                                                              Until then farewell!:)

Deer and a pair of shorts

A couple days ago I saw a video on MyFroggyStuff about making elastic waist doll pants. Today I decided to make shorts but use the same idea. For my first pair of shorts, I think that they look pretty good!:)
About a week ago my mom and I were making dinner and something caught her eye. It was a DEER! We have also seen foxes, my dog Bear killed a possum and got rid of our temporary mole problem, and we have also heard a bobcat! I grabbed my camera real quick and started snapping. The one where the deers head is turned she is looking at her two babies. I couldn't get a picture of the babies because they ran real quick after there mom.

Have a good week!

The Airport

On Monday my dad, brother, and I went to a municipal airport (for small airplanes) and went flying on a four person plane. I brought Julie along and took some pictures. We had an AWESOME time! I think Julie did too.

                                                         Sitting on the propeller.
                                                              Big blue sky
Watching the land whizz by. But really we didn't go SUPER fast.
                                                       Steering
                                                      Watching the dials.

Hope you guys enjoyed the pics!

Sew Fancy Doll Clothes

My grandma gave me some doll clothes that she made. Since she owns Sew Fancy Doll Clothes you could have some too! Contact me at mybunniesrbest@yahoo.com for more information.  If you have questions  or want to know pricing email me or comment on the blog.
The first outfit. It comes with the muff, hat, cloak, and gaiters (to go on boots).
                                                           Without the hat.

                                                             The gaiters.

The muff. It even has ribbon for your doll to hold it.

The hat.
The next outfit. This one includes the two-piece dress. Two buttons
in the front connect the shirt and skirt.
                                                               Close-up.
Now the buttons and other details are visible.
Next one. This outfit includes the dress. At the sleeves there are
snaps that add some volume to the sleeve.

Close-up of the dress. Isn't the detail goreous?!
The lace makes the dress!

The second outfit includes the cloak and gaiters. The gaiters
look the same as the tan ones except for the blue color and black buttons(which is adorable).
Another picture.
This is the last outfit with the nightgown. It is hard to tell but it has lace next to the hot pink ribbon. Also hard to tell but it is a bright white. Ready for bed!

Cheer!

On Friday I decided to do a photo shoot for Doll Diaries July Photo contest. I decided on cheerleaders. So I made some pom-poms out of yarn and experimented with different poses.  Mia and Nicki's legs anre VERY loose so it was a bit of a challenge to get them to pose properly but it worked.

                                    Started of as this..

..this..
                                    ....  then this...
                                         ........... and ended at this!

McKenna Shoots for the Stars

I just got finished watching "Mckenna Shoots for the Stars" on NBC and decided to tell my opinion on it:).

It was a pretty good movie but I probably would not have bought it on DVD. I think that the whole gymnastics theme is pretty generic since a whole lot of people seem to do gymnastics. I pretty much like the characters' (especially Josie) but at one point Toulane and Mckenna seem kind of whiny and not understanding. At that point of the movie they might have wanted their character that way but it seems like they overreacted. I do like the overall theme of the movie but it seems like the directors could have included Sierra in to be more of a "friend". Just to let everyone know it is BASED on the books but not really like them (example in the book Sierra has red hair, in the movie her hair was dark brown or black).
Anyway that was just my opinion but don't be afraid to look at theclips or buy the movie.

Bye!

Downy Spritz

Hey everyone! Recently I did the downy spritz to one of my dolls with straight hair and took pictures of the results! Fabric softener really works well to soften and get tangles out AG's hair. I am definetely going to do spray it on my other dolls in the future.
Back view. See all the tangles?
Side view.
And now for the results...

Tangles gone and shinier hair!

                                                             Side view.

Now that you've seen the results comment if you're going to go to Walmart and buy yourself some Downy or laundry softener( I used the off brand). OK I'm kidding but comment if sometime in the future you would like to get some laundry softener and do your dolls' hair.
Have y'all seen the new AG releases? I love the VW bug set for Julie but no way no how am I going to pay $350 for the car and a couple of little accesories! I do know that I am going to get the Weekend fun outfit and a couple of the other outfits.

Other news: Doll Diaries is having a couple of fun giveaways, one for a bikini set for AG's from Dreamworld collections, one from My Fancy Princess Doll Dress Giveaway, and yet another for a Tropical Wetsuit and Boogie Board from Day Dream Doll Boutique.

Bye for now,
Shauna
